Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! The noon time crazy rush is over. We had a larger group here today and it was very nice. After our guests went home, we forced my husband to take a well deserved nap. He has been up since the early hours making the fixings for our delicious meal. This is my favorite holiday. I like it better than Christmas because there is no gift pressure. It is hard to believe that we will start decorating for Christmas this Sunday. That has always been a tradition here and my children are holding me to it. God has seen us through a bumpy year. He is Good, All the Time! I hope that you and your families have had a Blessed day!

Homemade Christmas #1

Emily Rose at http://www.simplyvintagegirl.com/blog/ is hosting a Homemade Christmas again. Thank you Emily for hosting this again this year. I have a finish! This is "Queen Bee" by Little House Needleworks. I finished the stitching a year or two ago but it is next to impossible to find square or odd sized frames. Thank you Hobby Lobby. I found this one this week. My parents and I have begun beekeeping, well, my parents mostly. I made this to give to my mother this year for Christmas. I hope that our bees will be tucked away and safe this winter. I look forward to the rewards of their labor again next year. Have a wonderful day!

Medical Musings

I just got back from the medical mile in our area to pick up some medicine for one of my children and NOW I HAVE TO GO BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GRRRrrr... :) One of my other wonderful children just bashfully showed me some spots on her body.... I love my children and I am thankful that we can receive medical observation in a timely manner most of the time. I will turn my Grrrr's into Great! I get to spend some one on one time with my daughter. (I just pray that we don't arrive with spots and leave with H1N1!!!!!) :)
Before I go, I just have to share this. A week ago I was in the emergency room. We have spent a lot of time hanging around the hospital this year and my husband (God love him) compulsively uses the hand sanitizing foam. He was out of the room making a call when the Dr. came in to talk with me about why I was there. He was kicked back and we were talking about my history etc. when my husband comes in, shoots himself a big wad of hand foam, and then goes to shake the Dr.'s hand or something. A huge dollop of foam hits the Dr. in the head. Foam all over his forehead and hair. Kind Dr. asked, "What is that???" All in all he was very kind and I was very embarrassed. I love you dear. My mother works at the hospital and later told me that my Dr. that night was the head of E.R. .You just can't take us anywhere.
I hope that you have a Happy and Healthy weekend!

*Daughter is fine. Just a non-contagious, childhood rash that nothing can be done about, thank-you for your co-payment, good-bye! My daughter was a little disappointed. She wanted to roll around in her brother's bed and give it to him. Isn't that sweet? :(

Thankful Thursday

Almost 2 months since I've been here? Yep, that is about when I started to not feel so well. I have been having tests done and I am just having to be patient and wait on the Lord. More tests next week.
I am so thankful for
...a beautiful day today. I even have clothes out on the line.
...being able to do get some yardwork done. Get things cleaned up outside so we can be tucked in all cozy this winter.
...my children are working hard at school and doing well.
...I only have 6 weeks until I finish my class.
...my hardworking husband. He makes us all smile!
Have a wonderful day! We are headed to the park!

Thankful Friday

1. I was able to find milk for $.99 a gallon yesterday at Aldi. Thank you Lord! (It seems like we are going through close to a gallon a day these days.)
2. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Take any anatomy class if you don't believe me. It is astounding to me that our bodies even work half as well as they do. The inner workings of us are thoroughly amazing.
3. Still so thankful that my husband has work.
4. I've gone back to school just a little and we are all doing okay with it. (Maybe this will work.)
( I really don't know how so many amazing women do it all though.)
5. I am thankful for my family cheering me on and supporting me.

It is a beautiful day. I think that I am going to go and get the children out in it. Have a great weekend!

I will give thanks to Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Thy works,
And my soul knows it very well.
Psalm 139:14

August Christmas Challenge

Well...I finished a second Christmas project but with all of our computer problems I can't post a picture. I finished a cross stitch piece but I can't find a frame for it so it is technically not finished. Thank you Di for challenging me to stay focused this month and get a few things finished! I will enjoy cuddling under my scrappy Christmas quilt as soon as the snow flies, which might be in a few days considering how strange our weather has been. I'll post pictures of these finishes as soon as I can.
Next, I need to continue working on my signature blocks. Why are those so hard for me? I also need to get back to studying. My world has turned upside down in the last week! Happy last day of August!
